New York Here I Come!!!

Off to NYC early tomorrow, looking forward to some relaxing, shopping and site seeing.  I plan on stopping at the New York Cake Company.  If I do not return next week, I have set up camp at this store.  :)

Ugh!  I am sooooo behind with this blog.  So here are some of the things I have made this month.

Chocolate S'Mores Cupcakes.  German Chocolate Cake with White Chocolate Chips, Graham Crackers, Marshmallow Creme ButterCream with a chunk of Hershey Chocolate.

Key Lime Cookies with Coconut Royal Frosting - testing my KopyKake.  Definitely need practice. 

Candy Buttons and Sugar Cookie Pencils...

We all make mistakes, right?  Guess I made one with these cookies, too much baking powder.  They spread to almost twice the size I wanted them to be, doh!  The candy buttons (thanks Sugarbelle)are bubblegum flavored, the cookie a vanilla butter cookie with a, you guessed it, bubblegum flavor icing.  My youngest was raising money for the Honor Flights for her NJr.HS group.  All cookies sold, most of the candy buttons, which made my other 2 kids happy cuz that meant they got some of the treats.  :)  If you would like to see some REALLY good pencils, check out LilaLoa, that's where I got the idea.  But no making fun of mine, once you see hers.  :)
Well, time to help dig out a nasty dead shrub from the backyard....

Beach Themed 5th Birthday Party.

Sugar Cookie with Cotton Candy Flavored Royal Icing

stuff I have been baking while I have been forgetting my blog...eeeek.

I have been soooo far behind with this blog, so here are some of the goodies I have been making.

Desserts for a Confirmation.  Jumbo Vanilla Bean Cupcakes with Vanilla Bean Buttercream and Peanut Butter Buttercream and Regular Root Beer Float Cupcakes.  Hope they enjoy.  I threw in the Root Beer Cupcakes for them, the confirmant wanted those sooo bad, but had to agree to the Vanilla and Peanut Butter.  :)  I hope he gets to take one home.

Raspberry Vanilla Mini Cupcakes for a little girls 1st Communion.  Topped with a White Chocolate Fondant cross.

I'm Baack

...at least part time. 

I revamped my sugar cookie, I like the flavor a bit better, the texture and the time in which it takes me, let's be honest, that's the main reason, well, that and taste.  I have no plans to remove the old recipe, I will need to get opinions, maybe some free samples???  hmmmm???  ;0) 

Well, since it is Easter, um, like in 5 days, I played with the new dough, I found my carrot cutter, I think this cutter is so darn cute.  I wish I would have thought to look for it A LOT earlier.  Oh well...



Even though not all my back pain is gone, most of it is and I am glad to be able to play with my dough and icing.  Thank you for your patience, I look forward to providing you your treats in 2012.
