This first cake was one disaster after another, first cake batter was soooo runny it was gross, second cake was not so runny but did not bake completely so I had super crisp ends with gooey insides, third cake I forgot to place a cookie sheet under the pan and I started my oven on fire, thank goodness for baking soda, fourth cake was perfect but due in less than an hour. I believe I wanted to give up. but as luck had it, I was able to deliver, rather than have them pick up and I got it to the place within minutes of serving. Whew!
This cake was fun to make, but I would not make it the way I did again. Many lessons learned with this cake. And as I am handing off the cake to the customer, the shoe tips over, I could have pooped myself. Humidity that day was HORENDOUS, hence the gooey white bottom of sole. heavy sigh. But, I rec'd a note from the customer that it was yummy and the birthday girl LOVED her cake and took the shoe home to share. Whew, yet again.
